It was his first defeat as a professional. They had a rematch in May 1942, with Robinson winning by a disputed ten-round split decision. Due to his service in the Coast Guard during World War II, Servo didn’t fight again for 3½ years.
Servo knocked out Freddie (Red) Cochrane to win the World Welterweight Championship in February 1946. Categories: World Welterweight Champions | American World Champions |The Ring Magazine Champions |World War II Veterans | Diamond Belt Champions
